Myopia Management
What is myopia?
Myopia, also known as short sightedness, often develops during childhood and adolescence and may worsen over time.
It is a common vision condition where distant objects appear blurry, while close objects remain clear. It occurs when the eyeball becomes too long or the cornea is too curved, causing light rays to focus in front of the retina rather than directly on it. This leads to blurred vision when looking at objects in the distance. Standard spectacles and contact lenses can correct these light-focusing issues to improve sight. However, they often do not prevent deterioration, as it is a natural growth process occurring in the eyes of these young people.
Specialist Myopia Control spectacle lenses and contact lenses, can successfully stop this sight deterioration in upto 67% of young people.
Debneys Opticians offer a choice of 2 revolutionary, new management systems, which includes Essilor’s amazing Stellest lens system, or Coopervision’s incredibly well researched soft 1-day contact lens option, MiSight.
